Government Roaming govroam is an eduroam-like service especially designed for public services at national and international level. TANDEM

TANDEM aims to support dialogue between the EU and African Research and Educational Networks, with special attention to Western and Central Africa region. The scope is to promote cooperation by exploiting the interconnection between the European research and educational network (GEANT) and the established African regional networks. This project aims to prepare WACREN in the deployment of e-infrastructures answering End User’s needs and taking into account policy, financial, regulatory and technical constraints.

MAGIC

MAGIC aims to significantly improve the ability of researchers and academics around the world to collaborate together by expanding the reach of eduroam, Identity Federations and eduGAIN; and by supporting user communities with collaboration tools and information on funding opportunities.

eduroam Visitor Access

Institutions in The Netherlands can use eduroam Visitor Access to create temporary eduroam-accounts and assign them to their visitors. This allows visitors to use the same safe and reliable Wi-Fi network as students and staff. more info here>

Internet of Things / LoRaWAN

SURFnet wants to give more people in education and research the chance to become acquainted with the Internet of Things, for example by teaching workshops on the LoRaWAN technology and by supporting institutions that want to experiment with the LoRaWAN infrastructure.

edu-SIM

Programmable, provider independent SIM cards. SURFnet is working to provide institutes with their own SIM cards that are independent of telco's. This offers opportunities in authentication of students and staff and management of mobile devices. When switching providers, an institute shouldn’t have to replace all its SIM’s in mobile devices anymore.
