Utrecht University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands is starting a learning analytics experiment in its Statistics course, using a learning analytics infrastructure developed by SURFnet in collaboration with a number of institutions. 200 students studying Technical Business Management will participate. The online study activities of over 50 students in the Curriculum Design and ICT-based education modules of the English teacher programme will be researched. The aim is to give institutions hands-on experience with learning analytics. We want to demonstrate how learning analytics can be applied in practice in education. Naturally, we will be sharing afterwards everything we learn, for example about the technical implementation and legal considerations.
The SURFnet learning analytics experiment is also being started at VU Amsterdam.
