Karine e Silva is the PhD researcher on board of the BotLeg project (NWO funded) and has been involved in public-private partnerships against botnets since the start of the EU Advanced Cyber Defence Centre (ACDC) in early 2013. She investigates regulatory approaches to botnet mitigation and the role of public and private sectors in fighting against botnets in the Netherlands and abroad. Prior to joining the Tilburg Institute for Law and Technology (TILT), she worked as a legal researcher at ICRI (KU Leuven) and as a legal consultant at the Cybersecurity division of the ITU in Geneva. Her research interests lie in cybersecurity regulation, large-scale cybercrime, and data protection.
