DFN / GÉANT
Dr Christian Grimm is CEO of the German National Research and Education Network (DFN) and serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the GÉANT Association. Christian joined DFN in 2009 and was appointed to his current position in 2011.
In his capacity as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the GÉANT Association, Christian Grimm is contributing to the ongoing discussions on future developments of e-Infrastructures at European level. These developments aim at building the required capacity to support excellence in science, innovation in industry and modernisation of the digital economy and society as a whole.
Prior to DFN Christian was in the directorate of the Regional Computing Centre for Lower Saxony (RRZN) as head of the research and development division. In parallel he was appointed Assistant Professor for Computer Networks at the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Universität in Hannover.
Christian complemented his life in academia by several professional engagements with commercial companies. He holds a Diploma and a Doctoral Degree in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology. He also enjoyed three years of education as an Information electronics technician.
