Maria Farrell is a Senior Consultant on Internet Infrastructure and Governance for InterConnect Communications. Previously she was deputy head of corporate affairs at ICANN, and has worked on telecoms and internet policy at the International Chamber of Commerce, Paris, the UK's Confederation of British Industry and The Law Society of England and Wales. Maria led communications and an advisory project at infoDev, the World Bank/IFC programme for technology and innovation for development. Maria is a Board Director and member of the Policy Advisory Committee of the UK's Open Rights Group. Maria has an MBA, an MSc in Government and a BA in History and Politics. She writes for the Guardian on technology and its impacts, and teaches politics and policy on Oxford University’s PhD programme on cyber security.
