Research and Education networks have long been a key enabler of academic collaboration and innovation, and recent advances in SDN, NFV and end to end service orchestration can greatly enhance the ability to offer holistic, agile, hosted and virtualised services encompassing both the Datacenter and network domains.
This workshop will discuss the capabilities of SDN control and NFV management and orchestration to deliver on-demand M2M connectivity and virtualised IT services for R&E clients, and the key role of programmable high bandwidth network connectivity to connect users to the cloud and connect cloud datacenters together.
We will also show how Multi-Domain Service Orchestration can enable the simple delivery of an on-demand service encompassing the underlying Datacenter and network domains to deliver the bandwidth and service experience that research projects need and want.
